This aesthetic, arborescent copper plate is one of the largest I have seen from this important copper mine in Kazakhstan. It weighs 280 grams and is complete all around on both sides. In fact, it has a little bit of ingrown matrix attached but is essentially a floater, as the bottom periphery is complete as well. The copper is fully formed, all around. Large coppers from this mine are extremely hard to come by despite its industrial scale production of copper metal. Ed, who was a major copper locality collector, owned many but none other from the Soviet republics of such size. Ex. Ed David Collection.
